Balletone,
the dancer’s workout for everybody, is a unique strength and
flexibility training program that blends classic ballet exercises
with modern fitness concepts to enhance body awareness, strengthen
core muscles, and improve overall conditioning.
The 2-day instructor certification program, recognized by
AFAA for 8 CEUs, prepares experienced group teaching instructors to
offer this exciting new fitness class.
Certification workshops are now being scheduled at locations
across the U.S.
The
Balletone program is specifically designed for non-dancers, allowing
class participants to enjoy the grace of the dance world, within the
more familiar teaching style of group exercise. The Balletone class
provides a dynamic non-impact workout that takes mind-body fitness
to a new level, by connecting breath and inner focus through classic
movement.
The 60-minute workout, flowing to inspiring music, engages
and energizes the entire body while increasing strength and
flexibility. Pilates, yoga and mind/body instructors have been quick
to recognize the closely related principles of Balletone, and are
incorporating Balletone movements that take their students off the
floor, into an upright position, creating challenges through full
body movement and body awareness. The popularity of Balletone has
inspired media attention.
In February of this year, Balletone was featured by both ABC
and NBC news affiliates in Philadelphia, and in May, Balletone was
showcased nationwide by Medstar Television, a national
health-related television company.
Former
professional dancer and fitness expert, Jody Hoegstedt, was inspired
to develop the Balletone “ballet-for-fitness” program as a means
of blending her dance and fitness backgrounds into a single focus.
Ms. Hoegstedt holds certifications with AFAA, ACE, and The Physical
Mind Institute and has appeared in Dance Magazine.
The demand for the Balletone class in the health and fitness
community encouraged her to found the Balletone Corporation in
August 2001.
Today, she serves as President and creative director of the
company.

Tinix
Stix
The Tinix Stix are pliable, but durable poles attached to weighted
cubes. The object of
"tinixing" is to step, hop, or jump over and around the
sticks in various patterns.
They were designed with optimum safety in mind! There is no risk of
tripping because they are so lightweight. If stepped on, they crush
and then return to their original shape. The intensity varies
according to the height of the sticks. The height options are 2, 3
˝, and 5 inches. The exertion level is completely up to the
individual.
